Hi all, once again.

Here are some of my system specs:
PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 Ghz
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 64 MB

I'm having a problem with the boot sequence.

Yaboot boots fine and starts up the kernel but stops at the loading of my video card. I believe that one of the options from my kernel config is causing this problem. I have discussed this with a friend who has successfully installed Gentoo on his system ( a G3 though) but we have no idea what would cause this problem? Any help would be appreciated!

How can I export my config files from my G5, so posters can have an accurate view of the problem.

Thanks in advance!
:)

Try to set in the Graphics menu, only the radeonfb option, and nothing else (no openfirmware too).

silian87,
Do you by chance know the radeonfb's formal name in the ncurses config menu?

Thanks for the help!

Which one are you using? Gentoo ppc or ppc64? When ppc64 is the case just do:
make g5_default_config(I think it's right spelled)
make menuconfig
and unselect nvidia card.
My G5 has been running ppc64 2004.3 very well for several weeks.

I tried this and it said no rule for g5_default_config
Any ideas why?

Close, but the command is
Code:

make g5_defconfig
make menuconfig

Thanks again for the help!
