I have some doubts about Apple's Airport Express base station.
It seems to me that this device is like a router, so I could connect it to a cable modem to provide internet access to other computers (up to 10), provided this computers have a wireless card or an Airport card. Am I right?
If it is so, which are the advantages or disadvantages of Airport Express and an ordinary router.
Also, I would like to know if my gentoo x86 box could access the internet through the base station and whether I could use the USB printer.

1. Yes.

2. None. Buy a cheaper wireless router, like a D-Link or Lynksys. There is no advantage to using Apple's base station. You can pick up many base stations for like $50 or less.

3. Yes, and with regards to USB printing, maybe. I think you just set up gimp-print to print to the base station. This is the case with my US Robotics base station.
