Hello,

I have installed 2.6.9 on my Apple emac G4. It has a Radeon 7500 dual head card (AGP). I have also plugged in another monitor.

Now, when I start my computer, at the very beginning, when all those messages are quickly scrolling by, I see that both monitors are correctly detected (their types, EDID info etc).

Now, I have installed X and it works great in single head config but doesnt yet work in dual head config.

Whenever I start X and later look at the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file, I see a warning message that "Video BIOS not detected. Disabling DDC support"
I think, because of this it cannot detect the monitor settings.

In the xorg.conf man page, I saw an option to manually specify the address of the video bios.

How do I find the address of the Video BIOS??

THanks!!

Since nobody else took this one ....

BIOS is a PC only thing, even video bios. So it is not surprising X can-not find it :)
More pertinently, dual head support depends on whether it is supported by the driver or not.
Code:
man radeon
claims that the driver does support dual-head, but that may be x86-only. If you have to use
Code:
Option "UseFBDev"
in xorg.conf for X to work, then you have to look for dual-head support in the kernel FrameBuffer driver.

hope this helps ...
