Hello everyone,
I have been thinking about moving to PPC/Linux platform (going to run Gentoo of course ;) ), and Pegasos seems to be a bit better than Mac, because I can take my current HD, DVD etc to Pegasos. But I have been wondering does my NVidia GeForceFX class graphic card work on pegasos? :?

What i have been seen, ppl report that old cards, like 3DFX Voodoo and Radeons up to 9200 series does have 3D support but nothing about Nvidia cards.Anyone knows what is situation with nvidia cards and Pegasos with Linux :?:

According to the man pages the `nv' Xorg driver from Xorg 6.8.x appears to support cards up to and including GeForce FX, though I am not sure what is the precise meaning of `supports.' I seem to recall that I have seen some place a repost stating the the GeForce FX works, but I might be mistaken too. In general Nvidia cards are viewed as hopeless on PPC at least in terms of 3D acceleration. Myself, I stick with ATI since newer Nvidia cards certainly suck on PPC. Older graphics cards are pretty cheap nowadays too.

There's no 3D support whatsoever for nVidia cards on PPC. The 3D support for Radeon cards is solid although it lacks a few (non critical) features like HW acuumulation buffer or FSAA.

'Supports' means '2D-only support', but the driver is slow compared to the 2D performance one gets with the nVidia driver.
