Greetings everyone...

I have been looking for a lightweight file manager that looked niced with Xfce4. Everything I read pointed me towards Rox. At first I hated it and finally after I figured out how to get rid of the icons and 'customize' it somewhat, I grew to like it. One of my greatest complaints was that none of the standard keyboard shortcuts worked. Well, I finally figured out how to customize these at http://rox.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/index.php/KeyboardShortcuts.

Basically, with the new version of Rox, you have to create ~/.gtkrc-2.0 with this option in it:

Code:
gtk-can-change-accels = 1

Now you can high any menu item and push a key on the keyboard and it will be assigned to that option. I.e. highlight Rename and press F2, F2 is now assigned to the rename function.

This may be common knowledge but it was very exciting to figure this out!
