hello,
I'm going to buy a mac mini 1.42Ghz.... and i'd like to know if someone have try to put our nice gentoo on it. If yes how is it going? Is there some bug or dificulties?

Maybe i'll buy a iBook 12" or powerbook 12" too. Someone try on this one?

I think it will be as easy as putting gentoo on powerbook, which can be easily done.

I've got a 12" powerbook and my mac mini is ordered :)
remember, the airport extreme wireless card WILL NOT WORK under linux. That's about the only hang up. Sure, it's not so much of a problem for a desktop machine such as the mini, but it might be for the powerbook (if you were intending to make use of wireless).

Bit of advice. Get 512kb of ram, do NOT settle for the 256K they give you. If you ever go back to MacOS you will NEED it, and will probably be glad you have it if you run KDE or Gnome. 256k is NOT enough.

Indeed, 256KB of RAM definitely wouldn't be enough

hehehehe ;)

PS: 512MB might be about right, though

There seems to be some problems with sound on the mac mini...
