This may be obvious to many of you, but I trust I am not alone in having overlooked this handy feature for some time now...

Notice at the top of any post, such as this one, where it says "Posted: <date> <time>" ?

Click the little post icon directly to the left. It links directly to the post itself, not the thread. So you can use this to reference individual posts from other threads (or within a crowded 3+ page thread)

sad but true. OTOH (check out my www button) we do not have such large threads anyway, so i never actually cared about this. our forum is rarely used, its more about pics and articles.

but from what i see in here i am not alone. i see plenty times that users in here refer to a thread likewise to "already discussed there", and yes, even moderators. and then this thread is 10+ pages (gcc thread comes to mind).

btw, i am at 1600x1200 on a 19" here. adjusting the textfont it looks pretty convinient, but i actually never noticed this small icon at all. i simply didnt even realize it. and - yes - i already do wear glasses

however, guess this thread belongs here:

Yes, exactly.

Based on my interpretation of the forum descriptions, I disagree.
It is a tip for Gentoo users, not a problem nor suggestion for the forum mods. Furthermore, I am assuming most people really only visit the Feedback section when they have a specific problem, not when they are looking for a tip about Gentoo (or by extention, the Gentoo forums).
