Hey all,

I've got one of the 17" Aluminum PB with G4 1.5GHz processor and an ATI Radeon video card. The only way I've been able to get Xorg to work has been to configure it to use the fbdev. The problem is that the default resolution is 1440x900 with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The resolution is fine, of course, but I've been trying to set the refresh rate to something that doesn't make my eyes bleed after a minute of looking at the screen. In my yaboot.conf file I've got
Code:

append="video=radeonfb:1440x900-32@75 splash=silent"

but it still comes up with a refresh rate of 60Hz. I'm not sure what else to try. From everything I've seen the format for the video parameter is correct. I copied the /usr/share/docs/fbset-x.xx/fb.modes.ATI.gz to /etc/fb.modes and I was able to chagne the resolution and refresh rate to the settings in there, but, of course, the text is badly stretched because the resolution just isn't right for the screen.

So can anyone help me? Maybe there's a way to configure Xorg so I don't have to use the framebuffer? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

P.S. I was also wondering if anyone could recommend a good USB Wireless adapter that works well on Gentoo PPC?
