Hello,

I have a powerbook alu and would like to be able to use the modem. I tried once in the pas and it did not work.
Did anyone try ? Was the attempt successfull ?
If yes, how to do it ?

I would be interested in getting this supported and am in somewhat a bad situation: when I will try, it will be too late (no other solution will be available to me; I will not be able to connect in another way).

Alternatively, would a pcmcia card do ?
What is the configuration to do then ?

As you may already know, the modem in the alubook is a winmodem. But it's on the i2c bus rather than usb. So connexant drivers won't work on that.

That said, I don't think anyone has actually tried to hack up an i2c driver to talk to the modem yet...
Perhaps adapt an existing linmodem driver?

I have not so much time, so I cannot investigate any further right now.
But I can mount my macosX partition on linux and proceed with the file transfers this way. Too bad I will not CVS remotely :-(
