Hi,

I just wanted to bootstrap a new PPC system and it failed while bootstraping glibc. Please see http://www.fs.tum.de/~meyerm/ppc-bootstrap and http://www.fs.tum.de/~meyerm/ppc-emergeinfo for details.

Oh, and why is "altivec" discarded?

Thank you!
Marcel

BTW: concerning the CFLAGS.
I know that mtune and maltivec are already implied by mcpu, but I since it can't damage anything I let it - perhaps I need to change sth later and then I would forget those... :-)

To be honest, I can't remember how I solved it. Perhaps even with a higher stage?

But you could check the following: Do you have the hardened USE flag or stack-protector CFLAGs set? All that nice stuff makes continous problems on PPC. I finally decided that ppc vs. x86 must be enough additional protection...
