Yep sorry another grub question.

Setup is:

Code:

2x36gb scsi drive on dual channel megaraid setup as
/boot             sdd1
/                   sdd5
/home           sdd6

Code:

3x160 sata drives going to be used for win2k, unbunto and storage and swap file

below x3 for sda sdb sdc
/boot
/ntfs
/ubuntu
/swap
/storage

Set grub as thus:

Code:

root (hd3,0)
setup (hd3)

grub.conf

Code:

root (hd3,0)
kernel (hd3,0)/boot/ac12-kernel-2.6.10 root=/dev/sdd5

With this i get error:

Code:

GRUB Loading stage1.5.

GRUB loading, please wait...
Error 17

Sure it is because i have got the drive address wrong but can work grub out, :(

Anyone help out?

cheers

If you use satadrives then you should exchange hd* against sd* I think
but I´m not sure...

That maybe the case but it has nothing to do with grub as i am trying to boot from the scsi array.

Hello,

Have you tried to edit '/boot/grub/device.map' and make the scsi (hd0) and
any ide disk you have (hd1)? Your error sounds like some kind of mapping problem where grub is trying to list ide first.

HTH :)
