Hi all,

Got a problem with syslog-ng and/or metalog.

Metalog is added to the default runlevel but anytime when the system caches the service dependencies i got this:
Code:
* Caching service dependencies...
 *  Service 'metalog' already provide 'logger'!;
 *  Not adding service 'syslog-ng'...

How to fix this?

I just want to use metalog...

If you want to use metalog, then you need to remove syslog-ng:

Code:
rc-update del syslog-ng

This is what i get when i try your solution:
Code:
~# rc-update del syslog-ng
* syslog-ng not found in any of the specified runlevels.

Then there is yet another logger installed. Do:

Code:
rc-update show | grep -i log

I guess it doesn't like two loggers to be even installed. If you don't use syslog-ng anymore, uninstall it.

Oh, if it's really uninstalled, you need to delete the file /etc/init.d/syslog-ng manually.
