I got bored and tried to get Luminocity working. According to the README it should work with the libraries included in Xorg 6.8.x. Well after hacking some missing .pc files I got it to compile without a problem. However when launched it just appears to mess up the screen. I can somewhat make out the pager but the rest is pretty distorted. Sometimes it locks up X, sometimes it doesnt. I was wondering if anyone else has given Luminocity a try and had any sucess?

If I recall, luminocity is something of a toy. It is being worked on, but it's really, really, early on. It's like alpha software. Things aren't supposed to work right in it from what I've read. And, that's just the way it goes. Slowly, that stuff should be moving into metacity, but you need to give it time. I'd expect Gnome 2.12 at the very earliest, but probably closer to 2.14

Here's a link if anyone is interested
