If you get that instead of a loading grub message it sounds like your grub install didn't work. Try booting into the live CD and following the directions in the handbook for manually setting up grub. I've had trouble with the auto grub installer, but I've never had any difficulties with the manual install.

Make sure that you mount all of your devices when you boot into the live cd
e.g.
Code:
#mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/gentoo
#mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/gentoo
chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash

After that check to make sure you copied your kernel image into /boot and then run grub according to the directions in the Gentoo Handbook under Alternate: Setting up GRUB manually.

Read the sticky grub error collection at the top of the forum to make sure your error isn't there. They call it sticky because it happens alot.

To save you the trouble, an error 15 is a missing file or directory.

Post your grub.conf file and I bet you have something pointed to the wrong place

also give us the full error message, not just the "error 15"
