Hi
I've read some of you succeeded in installing Gentoo on a "Mac mini".
I wonder how long it takes for such an installation to compile things
like the kernel, Xorg or KDE ?
All I found so far on the web was abstract benchmarks I can not figure
out what I could gain over my 350 MHz yoz.
Thanks, have a good day.

perhaps this will give you an idea

Code:
     Fri Feb 18 13:54:02 2005 >>> sys-devel/gcc-3.4.1-r3
merge time: 54 minutes and 47 seconds.

     Fri Feb 18 18:02:14 2005 >>> sys-libs/glibc-2.3.4.20041102
merge time: 1 hour, 34 minutes and 14 seconds

     Sat Feb 19 11:52:29 2005 >>> x11-base/xorg-x11-6.7.0-r3
merge time: 1 hour, 18 minutes and 40 seconds.

OK, thank you :-)

Addendum:
Compared to the 862minutes for gcc-coinfig + glic + gcc my Yoz takes.
I'd say i can appreciate the speedup :-)
