I've tried close to 10 times on Stage 2 and Stage 3 installations, using a ppc64 and ppc Live CD, by downloading the Stages and using a Universal CD. I've asked mailing lists, and talked on irc channels, but I can't seem to get it to work. If anyone would like to help me out by doing a SSH install, preferably someone close in terms of timezones (GMT, I'm in Ireland) they'd really be helping me out.

If you want, you can PM this account, but it'd be quicker to gmail:

jon[dot]m[dot]a[dot]lee[at]gmail[removethis][dot]com

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have had problems with my /etc/yaboot.conf, but I thought I'd set it up properly. I assign the following partition map:

/dev/sda1 Apple Partition Map
/dev/sda2 bootstrap
/dev/sda3 swap [2xRAM size, so 4Gb]
/dev/sda4 root [20Gb]
/dev/sda5 OS X

I can't emerge genkernel, but this was attempted after I had done
#mkofboot -v
so /dev/sda2 was HFS after being blessed, and it couldn't work.

I'm at a loss. Please, any help is good. By know I know most of the Handbook off by heart and can nearly get to compiling the kernel before I have to look at it.

I should also say I use ext3, as then I can view and modify things in OS X using ext2fs 1.3. This is how I can look at my yaboot.conf in OS X.

why don't you post your entire yaboot.conf, so we can get a look at it.
