I was getting this error just after rebuilding glibc and using linux26-headers... turns out it has nothing to do with either. I had coincidentally modded my CFLAGS. Removing -fomit-leaf-frame-pointers solved the problem. Just posting in case someone else runs into the same problem...

I dont have that in my cflags and it doesnt work for me... :-X

What are your CFLAGS? I honestly cannot remember where I found that particular one, maybe you've got something bogus as well? My look like this:

CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -fprefetch-loop-arrays -fstack-protector -ftracer -fforce-addr"

Friend figured it out for me.. strip was missing.. emerge --usepkgonly binutils

Since there is a FAQ in the FAQ forum that addresses this error and its remedies very well, I can only assume that the sole reason for the existance of this thread is for postcount++. :lol:

Oh, and also for me to remind the original poster to Search before posting. :P
