Hi i have a tulip driver based nic, and im going to convert my primary desktop to gentoo from windows tommrow. Anyways I have a network anywhere linksys based NIC chip is NC100. I set up a a web server recently with this nic all worked fine, except there are some option in the kernel 2.6.10 make menu under tulip and at least one of them has to be selected i guess to make the nic work, anyone know what options to enable to get this nic working, on the server i ended compiling them all into the kernel but id rather not do that i can avaiod it this time and i would like to fix this issue on my server. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can tell me exactly wich kernel options i need to select under the tulip menu in the network device drivers section. Thank you :)

Hi,

Try a lspci or cat /proc/pci to get more information of your card.
Then look at the chipset of your NIC and select the relevant module in the kernel config, ie chip is dc21042 then select Early DECchip Tulip dc2104x.

Hope this helps,

Grimm'
