I am trying to bootstrap my amd64 system, I extracted the stage1 tarball chrooted set use flags and make options, etc. done this a hundred times (almost) on several systems amd64 and p4.

I get the error:

Did you try to do it again to see if the problem is reproducible?

<Kugelfang> Deathwing00: ok, the LD_LIBRARY_PATH was set during the compile process for #3
<Kugelfang> Deathwing00: the glibc there was only foobared somehow
<Kugelfang> "only"
<Deathwing00> Kugelfang: any proposals?
<Kugelfang> Deathwing00: nope... if this is your problem, then please file a bug
<Kugelfang> Deathwing00: bugs go to bugzilla, no to the forums

Code:
...
 /usr/lib/portage/bin/ebuild.sh: line 1874: 28041 Segmentation fault      env LD_LIBRARY_PATH="${D}/$(get_libdir)" ${x} >/dev/null
!!! ERROR: sys-libs/glibc-2.3.4.20050125-r1 failed.
!!! Function toolchain-glibc_src_install, Line 489, Exitcode 139
!!! simple run test (ls) failed
...

I got the exact same thing - about 6 or 7 times now. It doesn't matter if I take amd64 or ~amd64 as keyword or anything else.
I ran a memtest86 all night -> no errors.
