#1. Remove the lines from xorg.conf that disables DGA
#2. fix your opengl... first try "opengl-update ati"

I just rebuilt my box so i will not know if i have the same issue when i get home.

My Open GL was enabled because glx gears was working

Code:
 glxinfo | grep direct

said direct rendering was enabled.

How would i enable DRI in the xorg.conf i was looking but nothing stood out.

TIA

hi,

when looking at the log you posted first, it really seems it is a sound card problem. More precisely i think it's Doom3 config file relative to the sound that stops doom3 to run
Code:
couldn't exec DoomConfig.cfg
couldn't exec autoexec.cfg

Code:
dlopen(libasound.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) failed: \uffff\uffffP\uffffW
\uffff\uffffW
@\uffff5

Code:
Alsa is not available

Code:
ioctl SNDCTL_SYSINFO failed: Invalid argument

Code:
WARNING: ioctl SNDCTL_DSP_SETTRIGGER PCM_ENABLE_OUTPUT failed: Broken pipe

anyway even if you already have a video pb, i think there might have one with the sound as well.
Try to see if the is doom3 config files, if so customize them
hope it helps

I am having the same exact problem on an AMD64 with AC97 and an X800 ATI. Has anyone found a fix yet?

hey guys, I found the problem. Since I am running a native 64BIT system, Doom3 wanted the 32BIT DRI. I got this off www.rage3d.com

Code:
LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH=/usr/lib32/modules/dri doom3

just a path to my 32BIT dri.

Game works fine now, except the FPS is kind fo crappy.
1024x768 24bit Anitallasing off
medium detail
around 34FPS

Kind of sucks for and AMD64 with 2GIG of ram and an ATI X800 with 256MB of ram.
