I am new to linux and gentoo and I was using the 2004.3 livecd to check out gentoo and I was wondering how I can connect to the internet when I use sbcyahoo dsl. When I log on to windows I would have to go into my modems config and connect to the internet. I was wondering how I could connect through the console of gentoo's livecd so that I could completely install gentoo on my computer. I tried using the dhcpcd eth0 to connect but it fails to connect when I check the ifconfig of eth0 it doesn't show its connected and also fails to ping. So any help is greatly appreciated...

I set up my dsl connection using adsl-setup and after it was setup I typed
I used adsl-start to connect and it timed out and failed to connect. It gave me:

adsl-start
...............TIMED OUT
/user/sbin/adsl-start: line 199: 3919 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1

Any other information on what to do now...

Thanks for the help

I did end up solving my problem. Go to the networking forums and search for my name. I will get the URL after I get gentoo fully installed but right now I am running off of the livecd...

Moved from Installing Gentoo. Please don't crosspost next time, it is considered rude. If you want a thread to be moved to another forum, feel free to contact us here.
