I'm quite stuck at my installation of my RS/6000 (Model 260). (Processor Type: 200MHz POWER3 630)

Installing Gentoo on a PPC is totally new for me, so I'm not sure wich way to go, I scanned through both PPC handbooks (32 and 64-bit). I wasn't totally sure wich guide to take, so i took the 64 bit one since they mention my machine in particular there..

Here the error i get when i try to boot:

Code:
/pci@fef00000/scsi@c/sd@9,0:1,/etc/yaboot.conf: Unknown or corrupt filesystem
Can't open config file
Welcome to yaboot version 1.3.12
Enter "help" to get some basic usage information
Default supplied on the command line: root=/dev/sda3
boot: kernel
Please wait, loading kernel...
kernel: 1,/vmlinux: Unable to open file, Invalid device
boot: _

my yaboot.conf is just like in the handbook, with slight changes:

Code:
device=disk:
partition=3
root=/dev/sda3
default=vmlinux
timeout=5

image=/boot/vmlinux
      label=gentoo
     read-only

Don't know what to do know.. I asked the same thing on #gentoo-ppc64 but everyone is dead silent ;)

I did try something else, because it was complaining about "Unknown or corrupt filesystem".. (i didn't format it)

"Once yaboot.conf is set up the way you want it, you run mkofboot -v to install the settings in the bootstrap partition. Don't forget this! Confirm when mkofboot asks you to create a new filesystem."

Doesn't really work either.

Hope you can help :)
