Heya,

I thought about getting a Mac Mini, installing Gentoo and plugging in my DSL modem. Then I could use it as a wireless router, file server, web and email server. Question is: does Gentoo support the wireless card, or is it the same issue as Airport Extreme? What about the rest of the Mini hardware, is it supported sufficiently by now?

Thanks heaps,
Jens

It is not the same issue, but even better the same card! All is Airport Extreme nowadays with Apple.

The Apple solutions guy I deal with suggested getting a Dlink, Linksys or Netgear ethernet-wireless Bridge in place of the Airport Extreme. This is supposed to take a wired connection from the mac to a wireless outside of the OS, it even works for OS X. A couple of the products are the same price as the Airport Extreme card..
