Can anyone make a recommendation for a good laptop that will be fairly easily set up with Gentoo (meaning few/no ugly hacks to get it going)? I'm looking to buy a new laptop, but my last one didn't have the best hardware for Linux. I'd prefer an Nvidia graphics card too because I've found they have better support than ATI in Linux, but I can be talked into whatever. :) Oh, and I'm aiming for something in the $1100 price range if I can. Thanks!

A little expensive but worth every last penny => IBM Thinkpad T series > 40 (T40 and up).

Moved to dups. See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=247803 and a couple more (laptop recommendation is a good search term).
