Hi

I am trying to run emerge --update --deep world but I get the following message. I have emerged perl but still have the following error. I noticed I don't have the config.log in the directory as stated below.

checking whether the i686-pc-linux-gnu-g77 linker (/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld ) supports shared libraries... yes
checking dynamic linker characteristics... GNU/Linux ld.so
checking how to hardcode library paths into programs... immediate
checking whether stripping libraries is possible... yes
checking for intltool >= 0.29... 0.33 found
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is require d for intltool

!!! Please attach the config.log to your bug report:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/gnome-vfs-2.8.4-r1/work/gnome-vfs-2.8.4/config.log

!!! ERROR: gnome-base/gnome-vfs-2.8.4-r1 failed.

Looks to me like a gcc thing?

By the way if the thread is moved, where to and which forum should I ask these type of queries/
