When booting up into gentoo I get an error netmount failed. Also, I cannot currently emerge kde. I get this error when I try: Temporary failure in name resolution. I can download everything else off portage still. Any suggestions?

netmount failed usually happens when your network card isn't detected by kernel, but your net.eth* service is still trying to bring it up.

For the Temporary failure in name resolution problem, do you have your dns servers listed in /etc/resolv.conf?
You might also try another gentoo mirror.
