I've tried to use latest ~x86 (since there's no ~ppc or ppc) ebuild of linux-wlan-ng but I got lot of kernel oops..[\i]
This happended with [i]linux-2.6.12-r2
which isn't actually stable.

I've tried with linux-2.6.11-r7 but in this case I got a sadbox acccess violation while emerging linux-wlan-ng.
So I've installed "by hand" latest version of linux-wlan-ng (which is more recent than the portage one). In this case I got no kernel oops but iwlist (which is part of the iwconfig suite) segments or hangs up.

I've also tried to use the orinoco driver but nothing happens when I load it (no interesting kernel message).

I know this card works fine under linux ppc, anybody can help me?

Hi,

I've found that emerging wireless-tools, and adding wlan to the default runlevel does quite well.

Then, dhcpcd wlan0 and it should be good to go.

Ok, but what version of kernel and linux-wlan-ng are you using?

There is a ~ppc ebuild of linux-wlan-ng. Look here:
http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=linux-wlan-ng

The DWL-122 uses the prism2_usb kernel driver and you have to set it using wlanctl-ng, not iwconfig.

I wish you the best of luck. It was pretty easy setting my DWL-122 up.

Try out my howto, HOWTO Prism2 USB on Gentoo. It's new; any comments throw them on the discussion page for the wiki.
