there's 6 threads about this:

Do a search for GENERAL_REGS OR _nl_init_domain_conv AND glibc

Try removing -fomit-frame-pointer. If it works I have written a small patch for glibc that I would like you to try that might fix it without removing the flag.

Bug report:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87697

There is also several threads about the problem in this forum.

I still don't get why people use
CHOST="i386-pc-linux-gnu"
and -mcpu=i686

Is it bad to use both? This is on an epia motherboad with a C3 (I think) processer. I'm pretty sure it's the equivelent to an i386.

you're using a CHOST that's lower than your march should be.
