During emerges I sometimes see strange "QA Notice" messages like the following (from this morning 'emerge -uaDtv world'...I have removed empty lines to make it easier to read):
Code:
...
>>> sys-boot/grub-0.96-r1 merged.
 sys-boot/grub
    selected: 0.94-r1
   protected: 0.96-r1
     omitted: none
>>> 'Selected' packages are slated for removal.
>>> 'Protected' and 'omitted' packages will not be removed.
>>> Waiting 5 seconds before starting...
>>> (Control-C to abort)...
>>> Unmerging in: 5 4 3 2 1
>>> Unmerging sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1...
No package files given... Grabbing a set.
QA Notice: ECLASS 'mount-boot' inherited illegally in sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1
QA Notice: ECLASS 'eutils' inherited illegally in sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1
QA Notice: ECLASS 'multilib' inherited illegally in sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1
QA Notice: ECLASS 'flag-o-matic' inherited illegally in sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1
QA Notice: ECLASS 'toolchain-funcs' inherited illegally in sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1
QA Notice: ECLASS 'gcc' inherited illegally in sys-boot/grub-0.94-r1
--- !mtime obj /usr/share/man/man8/grub.8.gz
--- !mtime obj /usr/share/man/man8/grub-terminfo.8.gz
--- !mtime obj /usr/share/man/man8/grub-md5-crypt.8.gz
--- !mtime obj /usr/share/man/man8/grub-install.8.gz
--- !mtime obj /usr/share/man/man1/mbchk.1.gz

--- !mtime obj /usr/share/info/grub.info.gz
<<<        obj /usr/share/doc/grub-0.94-r1/grub.conf.sample.gz
...

So what does the "QA Notice: ECLASS '<whatever>' inherited illegally mean? And how can I "fix" whatever problem it is declaring?

It's info for developers. Not a problem you have to care for.
