Hello,
i tried to bootstrap my Athlon System. But this procedure crashes with an "sys-apps/texinfo-4.8 failed" error.
Here is my make.conf; CFlags are from: http://gentoo-wiki.com/Safe_Cflags !!!!
Code:

CFLAGS="-march=athlon -o3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon -o3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"

THX 4 ur help

Spinne

PS: i used the 2005.0 stage1 tarball

I don't see any problem with those flags, you may have another problem. You will want to post the actual errors from when the compile stops, so people can have a bit more info to work with.

fwiw, i've never seen anyone use a lower case "o" when specifying "-O3".

i would recommend bootstrapping with x86 instead of ~x86, and -O2 instead of -O3.
