Hi,
Everytime I sync my portage tree, I get a message similar to the following:
Code:

wrote 27280 bytes  read 4979694 bytes  77627.50 bytes/sec
total size is 89458753  speedup is 17.87

>>> Updating Portage cache:  100%
I was just wondering what is the meaning of speedup here? Everytime it gives a different value.
Just curious....
