Did you compile your xorg-x11 with opengl support? I think that this may be the problem, you can check:

Code:

[ebuild   R   ] x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r1  -3dfx +3dnow +bitmap-fonts -cjk -debug -dlloader -dmx -doc -font-server -hardened -insecure-drivers -ipv6 -minimal +mmx +nls +opengl +pam -sdk +sse -static +truetype-fonts +type1-fonts (-uclibc) -xprint +xv 0 kB
[ebuild   R   ] x11-libs/qt-3.3.4-r3  +cups -debug -doc -examples -firebird +gif -immqt -immqt-bc -ipv6 -mysql -nas -odbc +opengl -postgres -sqlite -xinerama +zlib 0 kB

Both should show in red colour the '+opengl' flags, if not then switch on that flag in make.conf and then do 'emerge --Duv --newuse world' to recompile opengl support into all the applications.

I think that the mistake was that you already have that flag into make.conf, but you put it there after you compiled xorg-x11, no?

Okay, you were right...thanks...So I went back through and recompliled with opengl support and now I am getting the following compile error:

Code:
grep: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.4/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.4/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.4/libstdc++.la' is not a valid libtool archive
make: *** [libphp4.la] Error 1
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.4/libstdc++.la'
make: *** [sapi/cli/php] Error 1

!!! ERROR: dev-php/mod_php-4.3.11 failed.
!!! Function php-sapi_src_compile, Line 544, Exitcode 2
!!! compile problem
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

This is the most problems I have ever had with gentoo but I really appreciate the help I am getting....if anyone has any thoughts about this I would appreciate the help!!!

This is another error and not related at all with the previous one. There are many issues around with libstdc++ and libtool and searching around with these two you should find and easy way to the solution. Anyway, if you dont, ask here again and I will try to help you.

Btw, glad the other error is gone :D
