i was thinking about getting a powerbook, i got a good deal on one now, with 64 megs of ram in either nvidia or ati

i was wondering if it was possible to play games like ut2003/ut2004/ or doom3 on it ?

does anyone know.

You would have to use MacOSX to play any of the mentioned games if you realy want to play them.

I own a 12" Aluminium Powerbook G4 1000Mhz with a nvidia graphics card (5200 Go I think) and 512 MB of RAM. I've tried to play UT2003 on it a few month ago, but it was a little pita.. The graphics card is just to slow. :cry:

Doom3 requires even an G5 IIRC.

But you can play open source games without any problems using linux if you buy the ati one. nvidia graphics card would be a bad decision, because they do not provide drivers, so you will not get opengl running. (ati doesn't provide drivers, too, but you still get hardware opengl support up to radeon 9200)

I thought it just required 1.5 Ghz.. g4/g5 but I could be wrong...
