I've just installed a stage-3, i686, non-genkernel gentoo system and @ boot all I see is "GRUB" all across the screen and nothing happens or boots:
Here is my /boot/grub/grub.conf
Code:

default 0
timeout 30
title=Gentoo Linux 2.6.11-r3
root (hd0,0)
kernel /kernel-2.6.11-gentoo-r3 root=/dev/hda3
#I've added devfs=nomount gentoo=udev, but that doesnt help.

My /etc/fstab:
Code:

/dev/hda1             /boot        ext2         noauto,noatime      1 1
/dev/hda3             /               ext3         noatime                 0 0
/dev/hda2              none        swap        sw                        0 0
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom    iso9600  noauto,ro        0 0
none                     /proc        proc         defaults                 0 0
none                     /dev/shm    tmpfs     defaults                 0 0

(if the above looks all unformatted, it's because it is. i typed it from memory)
Any ideas?

I'd also like to know if there's a way to get GRUB to only show on one monitor, I get it on all screens too...

Search the Gentoo forums once again and found the solution.

I had to change something in my BIOS.
