Can someone please post config for getting a high res console (similar to what yaboot shows up like). I don't care if it's gensplash, bootsplash or some combination of that with black magic and witchcraft. I've tried everything and I'm really beginning to dislike my iBook. I keep thinking I'll just install KDE on it and give up...

solved myself due to using setfont.

Now I just need to figure out how to have it set RIGHT at boot so I NEVER see the ugly font..

Code:

Device Drivers --->
Graphics Support --->
Console display driver support --->
<*> Framebuffer console support
[*]        Select compiled-in fonts
[*]                 {probably Mac console 6x11 font}
[ ]                 {everything else}

when theres just one font, the kernel's got no other choice ;)

there's still something in standard font, maybe before the kernel switches to framebuffer,
but only for half a second, a good timed blink after yaboot and you don't see it ;)

PS: Mac font 6x11 rulez! 70lines!! :D

Your totally right.
I have a huge choice of console fonts and tried a lot of them. But there is nothing similar to the "yaboot"-font which is quite clear and readable. So the 12" iBook display should be able.
Which is your favourite consolefont, especially on small "mobiles"?
