Hi,

I have an iBook G4 with ALSA sound & pbbuttons working perfectly, I can change backlight, volume etc. with the special buttons. The only issue is the slowness of the volume change: When I press the volume up/down key, it takes ages until the volume actually changes. The same happens with alsamixer, PCM, DC Range etc. are changing very fast, but when I change the master volume, it's very slow. Is there any way around this? Could I somehow tell pbbuttons to not change the master volume, but PCM volume or DC Range volume?

Tom

In /etc/pbbuttonsd.conf there is a line starting on
Code:
SoundSystem =
Can you post your complete line here? You may want to set it to alsa or to auto, for more info see
Code:
man pbbuttonsd.conf

Perhaps you're referring to a separate issue but you can also press Shift+VOLUME_UP/DOWN to change the volume level 10 points at a time.

Is there any way to make this behaviour the default?

Not at runtime AFAIK. I don't have the source in front of me, but the patch to pbbuttonsd (also adding a config file property to configure it) would be trivial - it's just a matter of doing it.
