Hi. I am trying to install xorg-x11 on a new gentoo install when I get this error.

I can't see anything too interesting in there to tell me how to solve this. Hopefully somebody out there can :)

Thanks

That seems to have solved it. The compile has run longer this time than it did before.
Is there any reason this could have happend? -Should flex have been installed as a dependency of xorg-x11?

Glad to hear it seems to work.
No idea why flex wasn't installed - it should have been... Besides being an indirect dep of xorg-x11, it's part of the system profile and thus shouldn't have been removed at all. Did you by any chance run emerge --depclean lately? That may have uninstalled it...

no, this is a day old install. Just finished the kernel thismorning and then xorg was the first thing to come after that.

I did find this tho;

So I am not the first to see it :)

Thanks for your help

I got the same error, this seems to have fixed the compile error.
