I just did an emerge -u world and noticed that 4 out of the 20 builds had something to say after compilation. I checked emerge.log but it only logs the names of the packages, install time etc.. the most important bit, the package information being left out.

Would it be possible to get emerge to log the package output?

set PORT_LOGDIR in make.conf (see .example) and if all you care about are the notice messages, get enotice from gentooexperimental.org

Great, enotice does the job just fine. Why is this not default behaviour? especially since it is apperently so simple to implement?
