When I try to emerge anything that depends on jpeg (which is just about everything I use...),

Quote:
g++: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/../../../crti.o: No such file or directory
g++: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/crtbeginS.o: No such file or directory

g++: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/../../../crtn.o: No such file or directory

emerge info:

I have tried working around this with USE="-jpeg" (although this is far from ideal), but Firefox still depends on it. I have tried deleting the relevant file from /usr/portage/distfiles to force it to be downloaded again, but i get the same error.
