Hello.

Just a little tip about a script I used for a long time now. French users, feel free to read my original post in the French Section.

Most of us know the glsa-check tool, and maybe some use it ? I wrote a very little script to get a summary of affected packages, instead of just GLSA ids. Feel free to modify it to suit your needs, in my case I won't do it since this one is enough for me ^^.

Code:
for item in `glsa-check -t all 2>/dev/null | grep -v This` ; do
    echo -e -n "\033[1;34m $item\033[0m : "
    glsa-check -d $item 2>/dev/null | grep "Affected package:"
done

Copy / paste it in a new file, named secucheck.sh, for example, and chmod u+x it. Then... emerge sync, to get latest GLSA's ids, and just run it ;-) !

PS : Sorry for my english, far from perfect ^^ !

Thank you, a very usefull script!

But (of course, there's always a "but" ;) ) to call it a "system scurity hole checking script" it should also check the really running kernel version against known security holes.

It's probably far from perfect, but was useful for me. And as I said in the beginning it is just a very little script, and...
