I am trying to progress from stage one to stage two via the bootstrap.sh script. While compiling, make erros with the following message:
Code:
make: no rule to make target 'profiledbootstrap'. Stop.
Immediately following this is:
Code:
!!!Error: sys-devel/gcc-3.3.5.20050130-r1 failed.

I am running on a 2.8GHz P4 (HT enabled) with 2G ECC RAM and using the 2005.0 universal CD for x86.

My make.conf file is as follows (irrelivent items have been removed):
Code:
CLFAGS="-march=pentium4 -O2 -pipe"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPTS="-j3"

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I just stated an install on my new Inspiron 6000 Laptop and am getting hit with this exact same error. From what I gathered through old posts is that this is a known problem and has been happening for some time now.

Any ideas how to get around it? I think the problem is that the bootstra;p is compiling 3.3.5 and the system is expecting 3.4.x. Any way to get the bootscript.sh to go fetch the 3.4.x version instead of the one it's doing now?
