Is there a simple way to send me an email or to aggregate the portage-output so I can just see the Message-Lines, starting with an asterix?

I have a rather slow machine an I don't feel better by watching endless lines runnung down my screen for hours so by simply running emerge -uD world in the background, some (maybe important) messages may get lost.

One could of course write the output to some text-file and run a little script but surely somebody else has had the same problem.

try to search for the tool portlog-info in this forum - it's a nice command shell tool that does a good job!
