well, I'm at a loss here... I was gonna spend my time by playing a bit of supertux, until that damn libsdl woudln't install for god knows what reason...

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here, as I've tried everything I could possible think of...
I've tried installing 3 difft versions (the one's that are in portage right now), and I played around with the use flags.
nothing helped... I checked bugzilla, but nothing came up that even remotely sounded like my problem...

anyways, here's the info you might need...

Somewhere earlier on in the compile process, you should see the following line :

Code:
checking for Xi Graphics XiGMiscExtension support...

Does it end in "yes" or "no"?

*bump*

noone has an answer to this?
Maybe I should just file a bug on bugzilla then, although I think it's a problem on my end...

Sorry, I've been quite busy the last few days.

The error you've posted indicates that the file X11/extensions/xme.h does not exist, although according to the test (which does little more than test for that file) X11/extensions/xme.h does exist.

As far as I can tell, xorg-x11 does not include that file.

Can you tell me if /usr/include/X11/extensions/xme.h exists, and if it does what the output of 'etcat belongs /usr/include/X11/extensions/xme.h' is.

If it doesn't exist, I would be interested in the output of 'find / -name xme.h'

no worries m8... There's no real rush!
I just assumed you had forgotten about this thread, so I bumped it up :)
Next time I'll be a little more patient....

I did what you asked, and here are the results:
Code:

blastlinux X11 # etcat belongs /usr/include/X11/extensions/xme.h
Searching for /usr/include/X11/extensions/xme.h in * ...
blastlinux X11 # find / -xdev -name xme.h
blastlinux X11 #

something tells me that this is not the result you wanted to see :)

Code:

blastlinux ~ # find / -name xme.h
find: /proc/17451/task: No such file or directory
find: /proc/17452/task: No such file or directory
blastlinux ~ #

This thread was marked as solved, but no solution was posted. Could you post the solution? :)

Ah, thankie. Given that this problem was in March, it's kind of surprising that the patch that solved the issue wasn't put in portage by now...
