I don't know if this is PPC specific, but I have observed that linux CD burning programs generally flake out if you are using the same drive as the source and destination. My iBook only has a combodrive and when I attempt to copy a CD, Gnome baker 0.3 does nothing after I eject the original-- it says it's done burning before I even insert the blank!
I tried Gnome-CD-Master, but it was even worse and now I think I have to reboot just to get the disk out.
cdrdao went zombie and the disc won't eject, even once the zombie has died after about 10 minutes.

I remember seeing behavior like this with k3b on my pismo and xcdroast (years ago).
Are all these programs developed on PCs with 2 optical drives? Is this something PPC-specific? As far as I can tell, the only way to eject the original and insert the blank is to use the eject button on the keyboard (controlled by pbbuttonsd). I can't eject the disc from within the gnome baker application, as I can only click OK or cancel. Am I doing something wrong? Burning with command line utils works fine. I'm emerging k3b right now to see if it will work.

Have you tried Graveman program? Maybe it might work for you, it is pretty slick.

I tried graveman and it didn't work. I gave up and installed k3b and it works.
