I know that DR 17 has been in CVS for a while now and the x86 kids are smashing through this thing like no other but what about the PPC platform? Has anyone in the Gentoo PPC community installed this? I've been working at it for a while but no luck.

I just want to add how pleased I am with DR17. I no longer use OS X because it's too slow on my iBook. In fact I had a friend over today using DR17 and he was amazed that I'm only running a 500mhz G3 system and how much faster everything it is then his two year old Intel laptop.

Hmm. E17 just stopped working for me yesterday. Everything installed as normal but when I log into E17 it just flashes and brings me back to my entrance login screen.

Anyone else have this problem?

Time to change that Avatar then :)

Try turning off xdm ( entrance ) logins, and starting enlightenment from the console.
Put something like:

Code:
exec enlightenment-0.17

in your .xinitrc and then typing:

Code:
startx >& x.log

Then check out the output of x.log.

Thanks for the help. I figured out what the problem was. Enlightenment was trying to load the Temp module and I don't have anything on my iBook to read the temp of my computer. So it kept segfaulting. I just removed the module Temp and it works from there. I'll post up the errors and everything later on if I get the problem again.

A little bit offtopic...

Can you post a screenshot of your E17. I heard a lot of times that Enlightenment kicks ass, but I never used it and it's pretty lousy in the default installation (like other WM's, too). Now I want to know how it is with a pretty configured E17 ;)

Take a look on get-e.org, there are some screenshots.
