Hey all. I have a question about creating a livecd. I have a sun ultra 10 that I would like to use, but I'm not allowed to write to the hard drive (or at least not write an OS to the hard drive). I wonder if I can create an entire Gentoo installation that could run off of a cd. All I need it to have is a web browser with tabs (preferably firefox), and ds9 (a tool used for astronomy). I can even ssh into my machine at home if I need extra hard drive space to fit things that won't fit on the cd.

I was able to run the universal LiveCD and tinker around a bit, but as you know, this is for installation purposes.

If anyone can give me a few pointers, I would very much appreciate it.

P.S.
NetBooting probably isn't an option because I don't think I can get a machine to serve on the same network broadcast domain.
