Hi all

This might be a silly question, but is there any easy way to have a list of all installed packages - i. e. not only the ones recorded in world, but also all dependencies and everything?

The only thing I found in the documentation was looking in /var/db/pkg, which is a bit clumsy...

thanks
thomas

You'll need to be root to view this, but all package information is stored in your world file. man emerge tells you all about it. For now, just su and do
Code:
# less /var/lib/portage/world

No, this is not correct, imho.

For example, if I emerge "gnome", the only thing in the world-file will be gnome - but not all the different dependencies, libraries, applications etc...
