Hi all,

im doing a stage1 install of the current gentoo release, but im stuck at this point while trying to compile sys-libs/ncurses-5.4-r6

this is the errormessage:

i installed form the stage1-x86-2005.0.tar.bz2 tarball

I also tried the ncurses 5.4 and 5.3 from the gnu project, but those wont work either.

Any hint what i can do?

Begin by posting some more lines of the output, about 20 lines. The topmost error should be in that.

The reason I was asking is because the error that you posted makes it look like you don't have a c++ compiler, and gcc gets rebuilt with c++ support during bootstrap.

Maybe you upgraded to gcc-3.4 during bootstrap, but the compiler profile did not get switched over, so you are still running the old compiler without c++ support.
