Debian unstable + kernel 2.6.9 with patch 068 from Ken Moffat is quite stable on Amiga One.
I used this system to install gentoo on a separate partition, with success but some A1 freezing when using emerge.
(don't know yet if it is related to SIIMAGE DMA or CPU/Chipset Overheating or something more unknown)
When I boot this kernel with the debian part as root, I am able to do a full kernel compilation within Xorg.
When it boots with gentoo part as root, it hardly boot successfully, sometime freezing at the init stage, sometime at the console font choosing step, sometime after beeing logged in.
Is there anybody here having used such a config ?
Does anyone know where I should look, what are the main differences between a debian PPC and a gentoo PPC installation ?
In the kernel 2.6.9-068 :
hotplug / procfs / tmpfs configured
preemp / devfs not configured
So it should map the required kernel config documented in the handbook.
