Hi, just patched my 2.6.12 kernel with the orinoco patch and am having difficulty running kismet. I think the patch worked properly, as iwpriv shows monitor mode as one of the options now. however, kismet fails with a "FATAL: socket: Address family not supported by protocol" error.

Furthermore, airsnort doesn't work properly (detects no networks). consequently, i doubt its a problem with kismet. It may help if someone can point me in the right direction of a howto on setting up orinoco monitor mode on ppc.

Thanks

Bryan

Found out you need to turn socket support on in the kernel. its under network options, its the first option i think.
another symptom of this is dhcpcd working, but not getting an address.

Good luck all.
